Banquet Room:

We are not a banquet facility. We are a great restaurant that has a beautiful and elegant room that can cater to all of your needs. We offer private rooms with a maximum seating of up to 200 people and no minimums. Our style of service is classical, yet friendly and very unpretentious. The quality of our food is maintained for all parties we do. Again, we are not a generic banquet factory that simply reproduces parties. WE sit with you and customize your affair to your liking. Yes, we are a Portuguese restaurant and no we are not limited to Portuguese cuisine in our banquets. Whether you are planning an elaborate formal wedding or a fun birthday bash we understand your needs and we are here to guide you through so that you can have the party you want. Our staff is friendly and professional and more importantly they enjoy professional and more importantly they enjoy performing their duties, mostly to ensure that your guests have a great time. All menus are customized and like our restaurant all meals are prepared from scratch to ensure your guests walk away happy. Restaurant:

Our dining room has a casual atmosphere with the most professional and courteous attention paid to all our guests. The menu features great and original recipes by Manuel da Silva who opened this kitchen in 1987. These dishes are the true Portuguese recipes that created the famed Ironbound Portuguese Restaurants. Manuel had been a head chef in Newark since 1969. He then brought his uniqueness and creativity to South River. If you enjoy Portuguese Cuisine, you've probably tried one of his recipes. We are the only restaurant that still prepares every dish from scratch. The food alone is worth the ride. You will find an outgoing and friendly staff that have been with us for many years and want only to make sure your experience with us is as fulfilling as possible. A great dining experience begins with a staff that is trained to understand and enjoy anticipating your needs and desires. Great tasty individual preparation makes each dish your own. We do not advertise our restaurant, we let our guests do that for us because they are always treated exactly like the way we would treat guests in our home.
